Skin deep

Leather designer Róisín Gartland has just added an online store to her website, selling made-to-order gloves, gilets, and leather sleeves. All are handmade by Gartland at her studio in The Design Tower, Pearse Street, Dublin. Gartland, who celebrates 25 years of design and manufacture this year, will handcraft each item to order from the finest quality leather, lambskin and suede. She is also making lambskin collars – some of which can be tied and others that can be worn as a gilet-type garment when belted. Gartland, who graduated with a Masters from NCAD last year, says her work "Straddles the boundaries between art, design and craft". Prices from €95. See roisingartland.com
